SUFFOLK SHERIFF HOLDS FREE BASEBALL CLINIC

(COPIAGUE, NY) On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Sheriff Errol D. Toulon and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Valor Sports hosted a free baseball clinic at Tanner Park in Copiague, drawing 100 children from across the community.

The event introduced children ages 7-13, to the basics of baseball through two hours of lessons with NYS Hall of Famer Lou Bernardi and members of the Sheriff’s Office Softball Team. The participants were enthusiastic as they engaged in drills focused on throwing, catching, and hitting the ball, while also learning the importance of sportsmanship.

Following the event, Applebee’s provided a free BBQ for the children and their families. The barbecue strengthened the youth’s bonds with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office.  In addition, 7/11 donated beverages for the event to keep the participants hydrated.
