SUFFOLK COUNTY SHERIFF HONORS SUFFOLK COOPERATIVE LIBRARY SYSTEM    

(YAPHANK, NY) – On Sunday, September 28, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr. presented the Community Leadership Award to the Suffolk Cooperative Library System during the Sheriff’s Open House and Family Day.

The Suffolk Cooperative Library System has partnered with the Sheriff’s Office on numerous initiatives, including bringing their SLED (Suffolk Libraries Empowering Discovery) mobile library to many of the Sheriff’s Office’s community events including National Night Out, Sheriff’s Open House and Family Day and holiday toy giveaways.  They also provided supplies for programs that benefit incarcerated individuals in the Suffolk County’s correctional facilities.

Each month, Sheriff Toulon presents the Community Leadership Award to Suffolk County residents and organizations that go above and beyond to support their communities and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
