As of April 27, 2020 Suffolk County has 411 new COVID positive cases. There are a total of 32,470 cases throughout the county.
April 16, 2020 Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced the creation of a Fiscal Impact Task Force due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The task force is an independent panel that will conduct an extensive review of the County multi-year plan and determine the financial impact that the pandemic has had upon it. The County Executive is also attempting to extend the county's current property tax relief efforts.
In accordance with the Governor's executive order on April 15, 2020, Suffolk County will remain on PAUSE through May 15. Non-essential workers are to continue to stay at home and practice social distancing.
Suffolk County Parks are open for visitors.
Park areas that do not provide social distancing opportunities are closed such as Park Offices, Restrooms, Campgrounds, Playgrounds, Dog Parks and Marinas
As of April 9, 2020, golf courses are now closed.
Suffolk County Campgrounds are closed until May 15th.
Suffolk County Marinas will have a delayed season opening of May 1st.
