Arrest: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration/ Use of Counterfeit Inspection Certificate
01/03/20: At approximately 8:16 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tamara Lassegue, 46, of Mastic Beach, NY, for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Ms. Lassegue attempted to enter the Suffolk County Correctional Facility Security Booth Checkpoint in Yaphank for the purposes of visiting an inmate while having a fictitiously displayed inspection certificate fastened on the vehicle’s windshield. A DMV computer check revealed that there was no inspection for said vehicle on file with NYS DMV and that the vehicle’s registration was suspended a total of two times, the last due to an insurance lapse. Ms. Lassegue was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, failure to surrender license plates, operating an uninspected motor vehicle, and use of a fake or counterfeit inspection certificate.
