Arrest: Open Warrant and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

11/03/19: At approximately 1:25 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested David Henriksen, 23, of Rocky Point, NY, for unlawful possession of marijuana. Mr. Henriksen was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at the intersection of North Ocean Ave. and Cedar Grove St. in Patchogue for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. He was detained due to an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Mr. Henriksen was arrested on authority of an active Port Jefferson Village arrest warrant for an open alcohol container. Upon searching Mr. Henriksen incident to arrest, a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance later identified as marijuana was voluntarily surrendered from his waistband. Mr. Henriksen was arrested for the active warrant and for unlawful possession of marijuana.
