DEPUTY SHERIFFS ARREST MAN FOR FELONY DWI, FELONY AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION OF A VEHICLE, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES

(Yaphank, NY) On October 16, 2019, at approximately 1:00 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Christopher Slattery, 46, of Farmingville, NY, for driving while intoxicated (DWI) on the Long Island Expressway in Brookhaven, NY. Mr. Slattery was pulled over for driving 75 mph when the posted speed limit was 55 mph. The defendant demonstrated clues while performing standardized field sobriety tests indicating he was intoxicated. Mr. Slattery was arrested for driving while intoxicated with one prior DWI arrest and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement Bureau in Yaphank, NY. He refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Mr. Slattery was also found to be possession of concentrated cannabis, marijuana, diazepam (valium), cocaine, testosterone, and trenbolone (an anabolic steroid). His license was also suspended or revoked 27 total times.
In addition to the charge of felony driving while intoxicated, Mr. Slattery was also charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
