Arrest: Driving While Intoxicated, Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle

11/01/19: At approximately 1:01 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kareem Baldwin, 34, of Bay Shore, NY, for driving while intoxicated (DWI) on Mechanicsville Rd. in Bay Shore. Mr. Baldwin was stopped after he backed into a curb, failed to use a signal, and drove the wrong way down a one-way street. The defendant demonstrated clues while performing standardized field sobriety tests indicating he was intoxicated. Mr. Baldwin was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Station 1 for processing. He refused to consent to a chemical breath test. He was also charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a one way road violation, and failure to signal.
