Arrest: Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI)

10/26/19: At approximately 12:02 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Rashawn Lamb, 34, of Riverhead, NY, for driving while ability impaired by drugs (DWAI) on Sunrise Hwy. in Southampton. Mr. Lamb drove through a sobriety check point and was told multiple times to put his car in park. Mr. Lamb had trouble keeping his foot on the break and kept rolling forward while being told to stop. The defendant performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests. Mr. Lamb was arrested for driving while ability impaired and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Mobile DWI Processing Unit. He refused to consent to a blood test and was found to have a prior conviction of DWAI in 2011. He was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the 1st degree and driving while ability impaired on drugs.
