Arrest: Disorderly Conduct/ Harassment/ Resisting Arrest

10/03/19: At approximately 11:30 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tyree Nixon, 27, of Central Islip, NY, for disorderly conduct. Mr. Nixon was engaged in a verbal altercation with his ex-girlfriend in the hallway of 1st District Court in Islip. When approached by the deputies, Mr. Nixon repeatedly yelled profanities at the deputies in front of approximately six civilians. While then being lawfully arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment in the second degree, Mr. Nixon intentionally resisted the deputies by refusing to place his hands behind his back and twisting back and forth to get away. He had to be restrained by multiple officers. Mr. Nixon was also arrested for resisting arrest.
