Arrest: Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Displaying a Counterfeit Inspection Certificate

11/01/19: At approximately 2:45 AM Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Nichele Calhoun, 41, of Amityville, NY, for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree. Ms. Calhoun was attempting to enter the Yaphank Suffolk County Correctional Facility Security Booth checkpoint for the purpose of visiting an inmate. The Deputy Sheriff observed a forged or fictitious inspection sticker fastened on the vehicle’s windshield resembling a paper photocopy of an inspection sticker. A computer check of DMV records confirmed the inspection sticker was fictitious. The DMV check also revealed that Ms. Calhoun’s driver’s license was suspended two times. She was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the 3rd degree, driving an uninspected motor vehicle, and displaying a fake or counterfeit inspection certificate.
