Heroin & Substance Abuse Presentations
The Suffolk County Sheriff's Office offers various community and school-based presentations on substance abuse.
Some programs are geared towards our youth to help them learn about the effect of various drugs and pathways that can lead to addiction. The Sheriff's Office also teaches students about risk and protective factors, and the consequences of drug use.
We also have presentations designed for community members, organizations, school staff, and parents to observe and recognize indicators and physical signs and symptoms of substance abuse with an emphasis on heroin and opiate use. Specialized vaping presentations and other Drug Recognition presentations are also available for educators, school nurses, and parents here.
